ORGANIZATION: HO`OLA NA PUA

Ho'ola Na Pua, a Hawaii-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization, will provide underage, female victims of sex trafficking with a holistic approach to mental health, including psychosocial services, educational assistance, and emotional healing in the safety of a long-term licensed residential facility.

We are currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to connect volunteers with opportunities within Ho'ola Na Pua.

* work from home on your own schedule, but requested to participate in events, conference calls and/or in-person meetings as needed.

Reports To: Operations Director

General Responsibilities:

1. Work with HO'OLA NA PUA core leadership to meet their volunteer needs.

2. Work with volunteers to identify their area of interest/passion/gifting’s for possible opportunities within HO'OLA NA PUA.

3. Encourage and motivate volunteers and ensure volunteers are being appreciated.

4. Work with training coordinator to ensure successful trainings and ensure the volunteers are moving through the training process in a timely manner.

5. Provide monthly updates to volunteers.

6. Resource for volunteers and potential volunteers to answer questions, resolve conflicts, and provide support.

7. Ensure HO'OLA NA PUA website accurately reflects volunteer opportunities and needs.

8. Maintain volunteer database.

9. Carefully vets volunteer inquiries in order to see if the candidate is truly a match for HO'OLA NA PUA

Individual Responsibilities:

1. Attend mandatory core leadership meetings
2. Carry out the directives of the Operations Director
3. Plan Volunteer appreciation events, leadership retreat, and maintains relationships with volunteers serving HO'OLA NA PUA
4. Regular checking of Emails, text messages, and phone follow up are a necessity to this position

Qualifications
1. Passionate about HO'OLA NA PUA and the mission and vision. Must have an in-depth understanding of HO'OLA NA PUA current and future needs in the area of volunteers.

2. Dependable and capable of following through on commitments.

3. Enjoys working with volunteers and helping them use their gifting’s within HO'OLA NA PUA

4. Experience working with/managing volunteer

5. Self Starter, creative, ability to create a fluid and adaptable volunteer team

Mission Statement

The mission of Ho'ōla Nā Pua is the renewal of trafficked girls through health, education, advocacy, and reintegration. We are committed to meeting the unique needs of underage female sex trafficked victims through the utilization of individualized, comprehensive, and restorative therapies. Our vision is to provide girls who are rescued or escape from the abuse of sex trafficking with a path to restoration and healing from their trauma, an increased sense of self-worth, and the confidence and ability to successfully reintegrate into their family and the community.

Description

We serve an Island-wide and National Need through Health, Education, Advocacy, and Reintegration. We are an active member of the Hawaii Coalition Against Human Trafficking Task Force.

Currently, Hoʻōla Nā Pua is the only organization working to build a long-term licensed residential facility of this kind in Hawai’i.


Through our education programs, we conduct multi-sector, community, active engagement, educational training to increase awareness of sex trafficking. Our objective is to provide safeguards for vulnerable persons and foster an interactive, multi-disciplinary, anti-trafficking community through outreach to neighborhoods, prevention program in schools, first-responders, service providers, lawmakers, faith based communities, and the population at large.

Hoʻōla Nā Pua’s Starfish Mentoring Program provides mentoring with health-centric, trauma-informed care and support that addresses the unique needs of survivors of sex trafficking and those at risk.

In addition to these programs, Hoʻōla Nā Pua continues to cultivate awareness through our advocacy program, where volunteers are able to interact with the greater community and share the values and mission of our organization.
