On Saturday, December 6, 2014, at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Rice campus located at 201 E. Loop Rd. in Wheaton, Illinois. This tournament will prepare our students for the upcoming competitive season in the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA). Students will compete in eleven different speech events and two styles of debate events.
We need judges from the community who may or may not have any experience judging speech or debate. While you are with us, we will teach you how to judge competitive speech and debate, feed you delicious refreshments in the judges hospitality room, and delight you with the skill of our homeschool teenagers!
To register to judge contact Mary Vilim at mjvilim@gmail.com. Send your name, phone number, email address, the name of the person who referred you, and what rounds you are available. Plan to spend 2 1/2 to 3 hours with us. Arrival times are 8:45, 12:30, and 4:30 for debate rounds and 10:30 and 2:30 for speech rounds. Arriving at these times will give you time to enjoy our hospitality and to receive a brief orientation. The round lasts about 1 1/2 hours and then you will have time to fill out your ballot.
Thank you for participating in training the next generation; your contribution is invaluable!
