SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY - MUST LIVE IN MD/DC/VA
We are looking for volunteers who have a desire to teach and introduce young girls of color to web programming and computer science careers.
Instructor Qualifications:
• You have 4 -5 years of web development experience.
• You have fluency in the following topics: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, data structures, algorithms, and 028performance techniques.
• You have previous web development or engineering teaching experience, through a course, team training, etc.
Responsibilities:
• Teach four hours a day, two consecutive days, on a bimonthly basis for the middle school program
• Teach four hours a day, on Saturdays, for 12 weeks for our pre-college academy
• Work closely with two to three teaching assistants to provide students with meaningful and prompt feedback on their progress
• Facilitate a dynamic and collaborative classroom community
• Facilitate alumni hack nights
