Mission Statement
CASA Jefferson works to break the cycle of abuse and neglect through volunteers advocating for the safe, nurturing, and permanent homes for foster youth in our community.
Description
CASA Jefferson assigns trained, capable, and passionate volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused or neglected childred in the Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court System.
Volunteers get to know a child through face-to-face or phone contact. They talk with everyone in that child's life: parents and relatives, foster parents, teachers, medical professionals, attorneys, social workers, and others. They use the information they gather to inform judges and others of what the child needs and what will be the best permanent home for them.
Our volunteers are at the heart of our work. They give hope and a voice to abused and neglected children.
