Accepting resumes now and scheduling interviews for a Marketing and Special Events Internship for the Winter 2015 semester. Many exciting activities are coming up including our partnership with the Tulip Time festival.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning annual fundraising events, including help with sponsorship mailings and committee business.
- Assist in preparation of agency printed materials and creating fliers and presentations as needed.
- Assist in the collection and development of newsletter and other communications.
- Explore social media opportunities for appropriateness and application.
- Assist in the analysis of media outreach and strategies for reaching designated audiences.
- Extensive use of software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel.
- Conducts special projects, research and assignments as needed or as time allows.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
1. Experience in office setting strongly preferred.
2. Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively on a computer.
3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.
4. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
5. Demonstrated motivational and problem solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of LHFH.
6. Graphic design experience a plus
Required Education:
Those pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree will be considered.
Compensation:
Unpaid but will reimburse for mileage for any travel.
This internship can be done for school credit hours. Please speak with your academic advisor to arrange.
Hours and days are flexible. We are looking for an intern to work approximately 12 hours/week.

Description
Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity is a partnership, house building, homeownership Christian ministry in the greater Holland area. It is based on the principle that all God's people deserve a decent place to live and that our community is a better place when that occurs.
We serve families in western Michigan north to M-45, east to Hudsonville, south to the city of Allegan, and west to the shores of Lake Michigan.
- We have been affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International since November 1990.
- We will have served 117 families, building and restoring 117 homes by the end of 2011, bettering the lives of hundreds of children in the area.
- It takes over 2,000 volunteer hours to build a house.
- There are over 80 ways that volunteers may serve Lakeshore Habitat.
