How: Sign up here: http://vols.pt/ppkyM6
Every two years the Department of Housing and Urban Development has mandated that every county enumerate their homeless population. As a leader on homelessness issues in the state and country, Alameda County employs a very in depth census process. Here is a link to the report we produced in 2013: http://www.everyonehome.org/resources_homeless_count13.html. The 2015 Homeless Count will require the most surveys, most sites, and most volunteers of any years in the past. Sign up now and attenda training between January 6-17th. Trainings are held throughout the County (including several in the Tri City area) and are 3 hours long (2 hours for those who have participated before). The trainings are essential in helping to make sure that our volunteers ask the exact same question in the exact same manner on the fieldwork day in order to get the best data possible. On January 21, volunteers will be notified of their site and shift assignments for the day. We accommodate all schedules, transportation access, physical or personal needs, and city preferences. Shifts of longer than 4 hours have mandatory 30 min rest breaks. At each site, experienced site coordinators will be assisting volunteers during their interviews.

Mission Statement
Ending homelessness in Alameda County, California.
Description
EveryOne Home envisions a system of care in Alameda County that by 2020, ensures all extremely low-income residents have a safe, supportive and permanent place to call home with services available to help them stay housed and improve the quality of their lives.
Imagine children sleeping in their own beds instead of in a frosty car, attending school, having hope for the future. Envision mentally ill persons recovering in an apartment, with neighbors and friends, rather than wandering the streets in isolation, talking to themselves. Think of an acutely ill person with AIDS being able to pay rent and purchase life-sustaining medication. For homeless people and low-income people living with HIV/AIDS and/or serious mental illness EveryOne Home has a Plan to make these dreams reality in communities throughout Alameda County.
This vision is ambitious...and possible. We are building a future in which there are sufficient resources, political leadership, and community involvement to erase homelessness as a permanent fixture in our social landscape.
