The Salvation Army Griffin’s Game Volunteers
Date: November 22, 2014. Volunteers would need to arrive at 5:30pm but the game starts at 7:00pm.
Location: The Van Andel Arena, Grand Rapids
Number of Volunteers Needed: Ten (10) volunteers are needed and they would get free admission (courtesy of TSA) for their volunteering.
Volunteer responsibilities include:
Working at the "Throw for Dough" Tables: There will be 3 of them and we want 4 volunteers at each table. These volunteers would be selling rubber hockey pucks that purchasers throw onto the ice at a target; closest to the target wins! Every dollar raised at "Throw for Dough" goes to TSA. It is possible to raise between $800 and $1,000 through this effort. Once the "Throw for Dough" event takes place between the second and third periods, the volunteers are free to enjoy the game until 5 minutes before the game ends.
At 5 minutes before the end of the game, volunteers will need to go to their assigned exit and ring bells as the game attendees depart, and give away mini-bells to kettle donors (until they run out). There will be 3 kettles in the main lobby, one at the southeast exit (near the skywalk); one at the southeast corner of the arena; one at the southwest corner of the arena; 6 kettles total, with two volunteers per kettle. Volunteers will stay with the kettles until they are picked up by TSA personnel.
