Volunteers 14 years of age or older are needed to assist in Mane Stream's many programs and services. Volunteers are a important part in our organization. Programs include adaptive horseback riding lessons, programs for veterans and Armed Service Members and summer camp. Volunteer activities and opportunities include office work, feeding and caring for the horse, grooming and tacking of horses prior to lessons, leading horses or sidewalking riders during lessons or clients during therapy sessions, helping around the office and therapy clinic, photography, grant writing and much more.
Potential volunteers are required to attend one orientation and one hands-on training or mentoring sessions becoming an active volunteer. Pre registration is required for both orientation & training. An additional training is required for camp volunteers.
Volunteering opportunities are available Monday-Saturday at varying times during the day and evening throughout the year. Volunteers are asked to make a commitment for a 1-4 hour shift. Some people will volunteer for one shift per week, while others come a few days to help out. Please visit our website at www.manestreamnj.org for additional information and driving directions.

Description
Mane Stream provides year-round adaptive recreational horseback riding to children and adults with disabilities. Mane Stream also offers Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy, as well as an inclusive summer camp experience for children with or without disabilities. In addition to these programs, Mane Stream offers "Take the Reins" for veterans and Armed Services members and "Horses for Healing" for those living with, recovering from and living life after cancer.
