If you have one or all of these qualities please call and become a volunteer with Comfort Hospice. Men or women, young or old can make a difference TODAY in the life of a hospice patient and their family. Volunteers spend time with a terminally ill patient doing enjoyable activities - reading, talking, engaging in a hobby. Volunteers help family members take a break to rejuvenate, go shopping, or keep appointments. Volunteers are often the highlight of someone's day. Description
Hospice volunteers find it personally gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful to assist those in need at a critical point in their lives. Many of our volunteers are introduced to hospice thorough the death of a family member and understand firsthand the value of hospice care, but nearly 20% of volunteers are new to hospice. Volunteers consistently report that helping the terminally ill through hospice is not about dying but about living.
