Teachers needed to instruct Adult TASC Program participants in English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, or Math. Requires 2 1/2 hours of teaching one day per week from 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Monday - Thursday. Program starts September 11, 2017 through June 21, 2018.
Tutors needed for one-on-one work with children grades 1 - 9, English Language Arts or Math. Requires 1 1/4 hour of tutoring prepared lessons one day a week from 3:00 to 5:15 p.m. Monday - Thursday. No formal education/teaching experience required. Program starts October 2, 2017 through May 24, 2018.

Our Mission is to enable children, youth, and adults to reach the fullness of their potential through education in English Language Arts, Reading, Math, Technology, and TASC. In fulfillment of this Mission and in the spirit of Mother Theresa Gerhardinger, SSND, and Mother Caroline Friess, SSND: The Notre Dame Learning Center strives to welcome children, youth, and adults, encouraging them to take advantage of the educational opportunities offered; to create an environment that facilitates the development of the whole person; and to teach the skills necessary for further educational endeavors or employment. Established as a sponsored ministry of The School Sisters of Notre Dame, Rochester, New York in 2004.
Description
Notre Dame Learning Center offers after school and summer tutoring in English Language Arts, and Mathematics, for children in grades one through nine. Tutoring is provided on a one-to-one basis. Children are able to benefit from the relationship or mentorship in this fashion.
Volunteer tutors are available one day per week for at least one hour during that day.
