PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Through the Disaster Action Team (DAT) or during large-scale responses, to assist the Red Cross in delivering its mission to provide emergency relief to those affected by disasters.
OPEN TIME DAYS
For local responses and the Disaster Action Team, participating on a regular on-call basis when available.
Hours may range from six (6) to twelve (12) - hour shifts.
Regular participation in disaster services programs and capacity-building projects also preferred, a minimum of 24 collective hours in a year, such as through attending workshops and local disaster services meetings, serve as an instructor or attain volunteer leadership role.
For large-scale disaster deployments outside the Region, commitment may be a minimum 2-weeks, when and if needs are available
-Introductory Disaster Services Class, \"Disaster Services: An Overview\" (Module II), and
-The Disaster Action Team Workshop, and
-All additional requisite classes towards the applicable response activity(ies) and on-the-job response training.
