Peter’s Place is a welcoming space where homeless men and women can find a path out of homelessness. People can seek refuge, meals and basic services as well as connect with case management, entitlements and other benefits, mental health counseling and nursing services. By night, Peter’s Place opens its doors as an overnight shelter for 8 women and 38 men, creating a location for round-the-clock services for homeless men and women in Seattle.
Our Peter’s Place Day Center serves 250+ homeless men and women every day. It is open from 10:30AM to 7PM. All of the food is donated through the generosity of volunteers and community partners.
We have recently opened our doors from 5 days a week to 7 days a week and are seeking volunteers to help provide lunch or dinner on Fridays and/or Saturdays.
- Many groups will opt to provide the following: sandwiches, chips, fruit, dessert and beverages. (But we're open to your creativity! For our guests, this may be their only meal)
- We ask groups/individuals to provide food for 150 homeless men and women
- You are welcome to sign up for a one-time volunteer opportunity, weekly, monthly, or any combination of frequency
Our program does not have a full kitchen and all food must be prepared off-site. Some food can be heated onsite. This opportunity is great for office groups, social clubs, and church groups!
Please contact Erica at volunteers@compasshousingalliance.org for questions or to sign up!
