Interested in sharing your love of science and technology with the public? Want to interact with the professional science community in Pittsburgh? Would you like to volunteer but are not able to make a weekly commitment? We are offering a pilot program for individuals who are 21 years of age or older to join our Special Events Volunteer Team. Team members will be notified when a Carnegie Science Center event requires volunteer support and can choose to assist with the opportunities that fit into their schedules. Day and evening events are available.
This is perfect for adults and seniors who need a flexible schedule, but still want to be part of our volunteer team. Examples of events the Special Events Team might assist with include, but are not limited to: MessFest (January) Pittsburgh Regional Science Fair (March) Carnegie Science Awards (May) July 4th Fireworks Blowout Event (July) SpaceOut Weekend (October) Chain Reaction Competition (December) Breakfast Express (every Saturday in December before Christmas) SciTech Days (March and November) Science Sleepovers (March - May) 21 Nights (one Friday evening a month)

About Carnegie Science Center
Recipient of the 2003 National Award for Museum Service, Carnegie Science Center inspires and entertains by connecting science and technology with everyday life. In addition to providing valuable scientific experiences, Carnegie Science Center engages in outreach programs that serve Pittsburgh's diverse community. The Science Center is located on Pittsburgh's North Shore along the banks of the Ohio River and is accessible to persons with disabilities.

- Invent the next-generation science center, establishing CSC as a dynamic destination of choice for core and expanding audiences, resolving space constraints, and establishing the broadest possible mix of experiences across the science and technology spectrum.
