Under the direction of forest preserve staff, a Trail Steward adopts a trail and focuses on making it safe and pleasant for visitors. Activities include litter control, clearing branches and debris from trails after storms, and reporting any inappropriate uses of the trail to the designated Area Manager. No experience is needed! On-going training and educational opportunities are provided.
Contact our volunteer coordinator at komalley@winnebagoforest.org for details! Youth-oriented groups will be considered as long as there is an adult leader responsible and appropriate adult/child ratios (1 adult for every 5 children under 15 years old).
