ORGANIZATION: RRUFF - Rocklin Residents Unite For Fido

RRUFF is seeking a high energy, organized leader looking to make a difference in the Rocklin community. We are in our-9th year as a successful 501(c)(3) nonprofit and need help to take us to the next level.

If you love dogs, support veterans and their causes, and have the desire to bring us to prominence, we need you!

We are growing rapidly as we collaborate with other nonprofits with a similar mission. The Healing Heroes program funds service dog training for Disabled American Veterans. Of equal importance is management of the RRUFF Dog Park located inside Johnson-Springview Park. If you are a hands-on leader, and the only reward for your hard work is being recognized for your accomplishments, we would love to talk with you.

We are a 100% volunteer organization serving the greater Placer, Sacramento, Yuba and El Dorado Counties. The Board of Directors meets monthly, currently the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 3:00 p.m. Your board time commitment would be 1-2 hours for the monthly meeting plus preparation time; serve on at least 1 committee; assist with fundraising; volunteer at fundraising and community events throughout the year.

Our current needs include experience in the following:
Fundraising, Event Planning, Volunteer Management, legal, accounting, veteran/military, nonprofit management

We welcome any applicant who has served in the military.

Mission Statement

Serving Disabled Veterans and the Canine Community

Description

RRUFF was originally formed to establish the first off-leash dog park in Rocklin, Ca. The dog park opened December 23, 2011. In 2014 our mission expanded and Healing Heroes became a program of RRUFF. This program is dedicated to providing funding for service dog training expenses to veterans and first responders with post traumatic stress disorder and other invisible disabilities. Classes are held throughout the greater Sacramento, Placer, Yuba, and El Dorado counties. We continue to manage the RRUFF Dog Park inside Johnson-Springview park. And we continue to fund veterinary care for service dogs in-training as well as assist in finding and adopting, rescuing or purchasing dogs to match with veterans in the program. We have grown substantially over the past four years and look forward to continued expansion and collaboration within the nonprofit community . Our focus will be on raising money for the needs of the dogs in the service dog training classes as well as maintaining the RRUFF Dog Park.
