On Family Volunteer Day, join your community neighbors along with members of the organizations RADical Readers, Shawna’s House Inc, and Disney Friends for Change while we roll up our sleeves to help beautify a North Philadelphia neighborhood and the home of a Non-Profit Literacy Organization. During the 2014 The Big Give Philly - National Family Volunteer Day on Saturday November 22, 2014. Dedicating a few hours of your time can help improve the character of a neighborhood, Non-Profit organizations when they need you the most, and offer a positive change in our community!
Projects will range from:
- · Clean up and removal of book inventory
- · Community Garden
- · General Clean up (indoor and outdoor projects)
- · Event volunteers (donation station host/packing of donations)
- · Event set up and clean up
*Assignments will be assigned the day of the event upon arrival. Please come dressed appropriately according to the weather for outdoor projects and clothes you are willing to get a tad dirty in with comfortable closed toe sneakers.

A youth mentoring network (male and female) by means of
once a month group sessions during October to June for ages
13 - 18. A lso, one on one monthly youth mentoring .
- Shawna's House Conversing Couples
A social networking group for couples in long - term relationships.
- Shawna's House Blog
A blog about life topics and various current events . Articles submitted by the
Shawna's House staff & contributing writers
