Corps members complete approximately 100 hours of service from January to May 2015. This intensive commitment will make a substantial impact in the life of a young child. During this time, Corps members participate in the following activities:
- Serve part-time, approximately 8 hours per week, during the school year, including:
- Jumpstart sessions with team and small groups of children, 4 hours per week (two afternoons a week for two hours each)
- Team planning meetings and session preparation, which includes planning, reflection, and/or training, 1-2 hours per week
- 1-2 hours of individual planning and preparation for Jumpstart sessions
- Communicate with children’s families
- Participate in intensive pre-service and on-going trainings
Volunteers MUST be available for one of the following time slots:
- Monday and Wednesday 8:45am-11:15am
- Tuesday and Thursday 8:45am-11:15am
Additionally, volunteers must be available for a weekly staff meeting (TBD, but typically Friday afternoons). Volunteers will also participate in a pre-service training (1 Saturday traininng in January) and ongoing training (1 Saturday in March).
