Do you like writing, literature, literacy, or creativity? Write Local is looking for 10-15 volunteers to judge its Write My Neighborhood Contest during the month of December. Please email Krista Sarraf at writelocal@gmail.com to sign up.
Volunteers must be able to commit to judge pieces between December 5 and December 18, 2014 (you can judge remotely). The contest theme is "Home," and the contest is open to all ages. Entries include short fiction, personal narrative, and poetry and are under 1,000 words.
We will honor our wonderful judges by adding your names to our judge list in a printed copy of our literary magazine, "Voices," which will include work from contest winners. Plus, if you are an aspiring (or already published) author, we'll give you a web shout out. This is a great way to enter into the writing world if you haven't already or to promote your book if you're already published. That's Write Local's goal: to remove barriers to publication, because everyone deserves a voice.
Thank you for volunteering with Write Local. We treasure your contribution and love that you want to help our creative community thrive!
