The mission of Caring Hospice Services is to coordinate patient and family services while respecting their choices, values and beliefs.
Caring Hospice Services has patients in communities throughout Southern New Jersey who are in need of friendly visits from individuals willing to give a few hours per month. Our patients reside in private homes, nursing home and assisted-living facilities throughout Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties.
Veteran Volunteers are needed to provide care, companionship and hope to our patients and their families. Veteran Volunteers are crucial to fulfilling the hospice mission, and can serve in a wide variety of capacities:
- Assist Veteran patients in reminiscing/telling life stories.
- Educate and assist patients in receiving Veteran benefits.
- Take part in pinning ceremonies or distribute certificates for Veterans Day and other recognition events.
- Assist in replacing lost medals.
Individualized training is provided free of charge without the need to travel to the Mount Laurel office. In keeping with Medicare requirements, background and medical checks are part of the training process.

Description
Caring Hospice Services is a unique, holistic and cost-effective service designed to meet the social, emotional, spiritual and physical needs of our patients and families as they face terminal illness.
We provide end-of-life comfort care for patients who have chosen to forego further curative treatment for their terminal illness. We provide nursing, personal care, spiritual support and social work services to the patient (and their family) in the comfort of his/her home (i.e. a private residence or nursing facility). Volunteers support our patients and their families by providing companionship, respite care, complementary therapies, sewing memory butterfly pillows and pet/music/art-assisted therapies
Caring Hospice Services is certified by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO).
