Come volunteer with YEAH! (Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing), Berkeley's only shelter for transitional age youth (18-25). We assist young people who are currently homeless by providing basic relief from the stress of living on the street. We are also dedicated to co-creating a community of mutual support and respect.
YEAH! is looking for folks who are committed to making a difference in the community. Our shelter is opening for another season on November 10th, and we need many more dinner servers! Serving dinner is an essential volunteer role in the shelter. Servers help to make sure that everyone gets food, they keep the kitchen and the dishes clean, and they allow the shelter evening to run smoothly. If you want to play a vital role to helping YEAH! provide meals and shelter for young people, this is a great fit for you!
We are looking for volunteers to serve dinner on a weekly basis, but we are also flexible. There are volunteer orientations coming up where you can learn more about our organization, the folks we serve, and the volunteer roles. Orientations are from 6:00 to 8:00pm, and there are two before we open on November 10th, and more will be scheduled after that.
Tuesday, November 4th
Thursday, November 6th
We are also looking to fill other volunteer positions if you are interested:
Breakfast Server (6:30 to 8:30am)
Cooking Dinner (6:00 to 8:00pm)
Shower Log Monitor (8:15 to 10:15pm)
To learn more or RSVP to an orientation, please contact Amy through this ad. We hope to have you join our volunteer team soon!
