This volunteer position is responsible for increasing brand awareness, driving internet traffic, and increasing registration activity for the Rock The Ridge race event:

We’re seeking someone who will embody Mohonk Preserve’s mission and the Rock The Ridge brand and represent them authentically across various social media outlets. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and Instagram are some of our current outlets but we will need the intern to research new alternative outlets. The volunteer will learn community management and content management skills.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of social media best practices, tools, and strategies. The volunteer position's goal is to drive growth through the delivery of addictive, shareable content that fosters social engagement.

The volunteer should have familiarity with an on and offline publication, have great energy and want to learn how media is evolving online. The position is unpaid and can be for credit.

The role requires a flexible, resourceful, and detail-oriented person that loves working in a fast-paced environment.

Volunteer Work commitment is 8-10 hours per week. Due to the nature of the volunteer role, most or almost all hours can be completed off premises with scheduled daily check-ins via email or phone and weekly/biweekly in person check-ins.

Job Location: Mostly offsite, with periodic ( weekly or biweekly ) check in meetings

Work Hours: Flexible 8-10 hours per week, must follow through on agreed to deliverables

Start Date: ASAP ( Sometime in November 2014)

End Date: May 2015 ( Rock The Ridge Event is 5/2/15)
