ZCenter is dedicated to serving survivors of sexual assault/abuse and educating our community. Volunteers have the opportunity to come alongside survivors of sexual assault and support them on their journey toward healing. There are a variety of opportunities, ranging from administrative work and helping with special events to working on our 24/7 Support Line and as a Medical Advocate.
Our 40-hour Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training will equip you with the tools and resources you need for this opportunity. We run four trainings a year. Our training covers:
- History of the Rape Crisis Movement
- Cultural Competency
- Components of Sexual Assault and Abuse
- Crisis Intervention
- Medical, Legal, and Support Line Advocacy
- Prevention Education & Community Outreach
Our training is interactive and includes role plays and various presentations from professionals within the agency and in the community. You will also interact with current volunteers through our panel, where they share their volunteer experience and answer questions you may have.

Description
Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center seeks to provide quality, comprehensive, client-centered services to survivors of sexual assault and abuse. These services are provided in partnership with the survivor in the spirit of equality, free from judgment or oppression.
We believe that the women, men, and children we serve are entitled to respect, accessible services, privacy, empowerment, and advocacy.
ZCenter’s services are free and are available to all survivors regardless of race, gender, language, ability, sexual orientation, or religion.
ZCenter seeks to be an active presence in the community to speak up in support of and in partnership with all survivors of sexual violence. ZCenter provides services to the community at large and to other professionals and service providers to enhance the understanding of the impact of sexual violence on everyone.
