There are many major and critical events occuring in our community and the public looks towards government officials for information and updates. Staff representatives must be ready and on call to respond effectively and efficiently to provide constituents with first hand information.
The Media Department is responsible for capturing the Council Member and staff at special events, ceremonies and press conferences, editing video, designing flyers and updating Councilman Ruben Wills social media feed.
Volunteers will assist supervisors with each of these tasks and help prepare multi media for seasonal prints.

Mission Statement
The Office of Councilmember Ruben Wills is dedicated to providing District 28 constituents with the service they deserve. With one of the largest recorded constituent caseload in the city, our office is always thinking of innovative ways to advocate on behalf of our constituency. Council Member Ruben Wills recently launched his volunteer initiative, a program that calls on residents in the community to donate their time, knowledge and expertise to help fellow neighbors. This model, known as "neighboring", will bring forth a new wave of self-empowered, civic-minded volunteers.

Description
Council Member Ruben Wills was elected in a November 2010 special election after the passing of Council Member Thomas White, Jr.
He now serves as the Council Member of the 28th District in Queens, which comprises of Jamaica, Rochdale Village, Ozone Park and Richmond Hill and JFK Airport.
