Your role as a Family Law Legal Support volunteer will be to assist staff attorneys in their representation of the client.
Note that this position is based out of the Domestic Abuse Women’s Network (DAWN) offices in Tukwila, WA to support the ELAP DV Staff Attorney placed on-site at DAWN.
Duties:
- Organize, build and maintain client files for attorney use
- Assist in drafting and preparing pleadings and/or other legal documents
- Opportunities to sit in on client interviews and attend court proceedings
- Legal research
- Support DAWN Legal Advocate as necessary
- Support attorneys as needed on case management
- Report to Laura LeMaster, ELAP DV Staff Attorney and Peg Coleman, DAWN Executive Director
