Care for the Homeless is the only health care organization in New York City that is dedicated exclusively to serving homeless men, women, and children of all ages. For more than 25 years, our organization has been providing healthcare to homeless individuals at drop-in centers, soup kitchens, and shelters throughout the city.
Join our Health Education team for a Breast Cancer Awareness workshop and screening! Volunteers can expect to help with set up, registration, distributing information, and handing out incentives for participation. No special skills are needed to volunteer, just an interest in helping homeless women learn more about breast cancer.

About Care For the Homeless
Location:
30 East 33rd street, 5th Fl, New York, NY 10016, US
Mission Statement
Care For the Homeless fights homelessness by delivering high-quality and client-centered health care, human services and shelter to homeless individuals and families, and by advocating for policies to ameliorate, prevent and end homelessness.
Description
Care For the Homeless (CFH) serves 10,000 homeless men, women, and children annually and provides comprehensive health care at multiple sites co-located at soup kitchens, shelters, drop-in centers and street outreach programs in all 5 boroughs of NYC. Our service delivery model provides care where homeless individuals and families are receiving a variety of other services with the goal of reducing barriers to accessing high-quality health care. CFH also operates three transitional housing sites with on-site health care and is expanding shelter services in the future, ensuring a safe, supportive path to permanent housing.
In addition, CFH is committed to ending homelessness by conducting public education, research, and analysis of model programs and practices that create permanent housing opportunities, and by shaping policies to prevent future homelessness.
