Description
Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland, Inc. - Our Programs and Services
Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland, Inc. is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, which is headquartered in Americus Georgia. We seek to eliminate substandard housing by providing a hand up rather than a handout to help families to realize the dream of homeownership.
Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races, and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.
The need for Habitat in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties is real. The median value of a home in Montgomery County was $469,900 between 2007 and 2011. In parts of Prince George's county, up to 92% of renters are cost burdened.
As a private nonprofit organization Habitat for Humanity operates solely on donations of time, materials and money. Houses are sold to partner families at no profit, with no interest. Homeowners and volunteers build the homes together under trained supervision.
We are now accepting donations of new or used building materials, home furnishings and appliances for our Habitat ReStores. Call the Habitat ReStore donation hotline 301-947-3304 to find out about making your tax deductible donation.
Help make the dream of homeownership possible for deserving Montgomery and Prince George's County families- become a Habitat volunteer today!
