The Look Good Feel Better program is a free, community-based service that helps those facing cancer cope with the appearance-related side effects of treatment. Volunteer beauty professionals teach practical, hands-on tips about skin care, nail care, and hair loss at local group workshops. Each participant gets a free makeup kit to use during the workshop and take home. The program is offered as a collaboration between the American Cancer Society, the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, and the Professional Beauty Association.
The commitment is approximately three to five hours a month. A four-hour certification class and a biannual refresher course are also required.
