Aloha Everyone,

Project Hawai'i, Inc. is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers. Project Hawai'i, Inc., is run 100% by volunteers and solely supported by public donations. Our agency provides full time support, outreach and care to the children living in UNSHELTERED homeless situations. We are gearing up for the holidays to provide the children with a Thanksgiving meal, hygiene bags and other necessities that will help to make their lives a bit easier over these long winter breaks.

Statistics show that underprivileged and poverty stricken children rely solely on the school based free lunch programs, that mean....when school is out they don't get fed well or if at all. Our agency provides that extra support during these even HARDER times...times when families are supposed to be together to celebrate and gather for healthy meals. These children wonder if they will even be fed over their holiday breaks.

SO HOW DO YOU HELP??? Kapolei we need YOU!!

IF YOU WISH TO HAVE A PRE COLLECTION OF NEEDED SUPPLIES:

If your group/family/club, etc wishes to conduct a collection of needed supplies you will need to sign up for specific items to collect. Because I am going to be off the island for a large period of time, you will not be able to start your collection until after the 23rd of Oct...so, I am suggesting that you could start by collecting Walmart Gift Cards for $5.-$10. and then the families could purchase what they need most, or you can just wait until you are assigned an item(s). We can not just accept random items as we have no storage or space to properly organize such items.

A list of items would be

  • Shampoo/Conditioner/Brushes
  • Bar Soap w/plastic container, Washcloth
  • Toothbrush/Toothpaste
  • Bandaid boxes/First aid kits
  • Dish Liquid/Sponges
  • Gift Cards
  • Canned meals/veggies, non parishable items that DO not require an oven to bake...
  • Paper Plates/Bowls, Napkins.

Thank you again for your time and concern to help our homeless keiki for the holidays...and thank you again for your paitients while I am off island

Description

Project Hawai'i, Inc., is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers to enhance the lives of children living in poverty situations on the islands of Hawai'i. Our public supported charity works year round to provide necessities to children living in substandard housing situations, such as tents on the waters edge, abandon vehicles, and make-shift structures hidden in the bushes and hills.

Our agency provides children with holiday parties, meals and services for all the major holidays including Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Other monthly services include providing emergency support, hygiene, food, clothing and outreach to the children living in homeless situations on 3 of the islands of Hawai'i, the Big Island (Hawai'i), Mau'i and O'ahu.

Project Hawai'i also provides educational and nutritional programs that include after school reading and tutoring programs and our summer camp activities. Children will also receive full back to school support from new backpacks filled with supplies, new outfits, and shoes. We also provide other educational needs throughout the year.

Project Hawai'i Summer Camp has ran for 15 years and won several dozen awards in nutrition and educational support. This program is our largest endevor and evolves year after to year to include even more learning opportunities to our keiki.
