SCORE Chicago is a national non-profit organization, affiliated with The Small Business Administration (SBA.gov), dedicated to helping small businesses grow and succeed.
Currently, we are seeking a virtual Copywriter who can donate up to 5 hours per week assisting our Marketing department. The length of this opportunity is approximately 6 months.
Description:
Write creative copy for websites, landing pages and content marketing materials; social media platforms; email; and trade show related activities. Develop, execute and maintain content calendar for individual projects and ongoing programs that initiate and nurture engagement and conversion.
Desired skill set:
- Creative copywriting, editing, and word-smiting.
- Understand SEO and have the ability to incorporate keyword phrases into the body of website pages, headlines, sub-headlines, and content marketing materials (e.g. whitepapers, infographics, etc.)
- Write and distribute news releases
- Post and respond to content on social media platforms
- Utilize email and social media tools and systems
- Email list management and segmentation; call-to-action workflows and triggered events

SCORE is a not-for-profit association consisting of about 13,000 volunteer mentors and consultants nationwide, dedicated to helping small businesses grow by providing highly experienced support. SCORE-Chicago has 130 volunteers professionals, all of whom were business owners or successful business executives including entrepreneurs, bankers and consultants. The volunteer mentors, counselors and resources may be still actively working, semi-retired or retired. SCORE Chicago offers free mentoring for the life of a business and free consulting services for companies with annual revenue between $3 and $30 million. SCORE is a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
