The annual Holiday Food and Toy Distribution is in its 33 rd year of community outreach in 2014. The purpose of the Holiday Food and Toy Distribution is to provide needy families in Monongalia County with food and toys for the holiday season. In 2013, the distribution served 475 families, comprising 1,622 individuals. Many families throughout Monongalia County would be deprived of the joys that most associate with the holidays without the efforts of everyone involved.
On December 15th, 16th, and 17th, volunteers are needed to sort and bag donated food and organize toys in preparation for the distribution. It is on these days that a large portion of the effort behind the distribution takes place. Volunteers will be on hand to show you how you can assist in the effort. Any group or individual interested in helping should join us on these days. The distribution of food and toys to families will take place on December 18th. Volunteers are also needed on this day to assist with the distriution.
