Help Refugees pick up Winter coats

RefugeeOne's Annual coat drive is going on and on Tuesday, November 18th, we need volunteers to help distribute the collected coats to refugees. We also need help the day before with sorting and setting up. Volunteers don't need to do both days, and we can be flexible with your schedule. Shifts we need to fill are:

Monday, November 17, 10:00 - 1:00

Tuesday, November 18, 09:30 - 11:30

Tuesday, November 18, 11:30 - 01:30

Tuesday, November 18, 01:30 - 04:30

About us: RefugeeOne is a secular 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that provides a full range of services to refugees displaced from their homelands due to war or persecution and resettled in the Chicago metropolitan area by the U.S. State Department. Every year, our organization helps these refugees secure housing, learn English, acclimate to American culture, develop computer and other employable skills, find jobs, access medical and other care, navigate the public school system for their children, apply for citizenship, and obtain care for elderly family members.

Since 1982, RefugeeOne has resettled over 17,000 refugees from every major world crisis. RefugeeOne helps these refugees secure housing, learn English, find jobs, acclimate to American culture, obtain medical care, enroll their children in school, and apply for citizenship. Our ultimate goal is to help refugee families become self-reliant in as little as 6-12 months.
