ORGANIZATION: Jackson's Empowerment and Enrichment Complex

Provide support, encouragement, counsel, and truth with grace to the adult student on a regular basis. During the Jobs for Life training course, meet regularly with the student (at least once per week, more often as needed either at class, home or work or by phone). Regularly attend the JfL classes and serve as small group discussion leader. Work closely with your student. Serve as the primary person to evaluate his or her comprehension and life application of the material taught in the course. Monitor his or her progress to insure that he/she is on track for Jobs for Life graduation.

Mission Statement

Jackson’s Empowerment and Enrichment Complex’s mission is to improve the quality of life of people by addressing some root causes that have impacted them. These roots have helped to create social and economic imbalances. We will provide a neighborhood approach through the cooperation of people in our community by utilizing their knowledge and talents to revitalize and empower our community. This will allow us to enrich the lives of our youth, men, women and seniors and provide our citizens safer communities to live in.

Description

The building at 438 East Main has two floors for operations. The Youth Enrichment Center will operate on the second floor. Programs include: (1) Life Skills development (2) Tutorial Program (3) Home work assistance (4) Computer Lab (5) College Track (6) Career Options (7 )Performing Arts and More. On the first floor of this building will be the Community Empowerment Center. On this floor, the empowerment activities will include English as a Second Language Classes, Basic Literacy Classes, Community Forums, Training, Seminars, Lectures, Workshops, Entrepreneurial Empowerment and Opportunities, and Think Tanks
