ORGANIZATION: Alliance for African Assistance

By interning with the Wilson-Fish Employment Program, the Grant Writing Intern will enhance the capacity of our program’s services through increased funding opportunities. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is interested in grant writing, refugees, and workforce development. Our ideal candidate is passionate about improving the quality of refugees’ lives through employment and economic self-sufficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Research relevant grant opportunities for the Wilson-Fish Employment Program * Write Letters of Interest to prospective grant making organizations and individuals * Complete and follow up with grant applications * Assist in the creation of program reports and updates as needed

COMMITMENT: The position requires a minimum 3-6 month commitment for 10-15 hours per week.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: * Excellent command of written English including: grammar, sentence construction, paragraph flow, etc * Good proof reading skills, detail oriented, and highly organized * Ability to use online databases and search engines to conduct research * Studied or working towards a degree in English, Nonprofit Management, or related field

BENEFITS: This position offers insight into the operations of a nonprofit organization and valuable experience to enhance your resume. Although this position is unpaid, we are happy to provide an internship description and verification if you are seeking to attain college credit.
