Join us for a day in the woods at Forest Park! We will be digging out invasive non-native plants such as English ivy.
What to bring: Come dressed to work outside (rain or shine) with sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Tools and work gloves provided.
Where to meet: Parking in the upper parking lot, past the Rec Office will. We will meet at the picnic shelter next to Cedar Hall, which is just east of the playground.
IMPORTANT: As a general rule do not leave valuables in your car. Leave computers at home, keep other valuables that you need out of site or with you during the event.
RSVP/Contact for more details: Let us know if you are coming so we can have enough tools and snacks for everyone. greeneverett@forterra.org / 425-238-0065

Mission Statement
Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.
Description
Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
