The Sherman Avenue Corps of the Salvation Army is seeking bell ringers for the 2014 Red Kettle Campaign. Volunteers are needed to cover over two dozen locations in Washington D.C. and Montgomery County. Bell ringing is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals, families, organizations, groups and businesses! It also provides a meaningful volunteer opportunity for young children. All money raised goes to support local families by providing clothing, food, and toys. Last year's volunteers raised nearly $12,800.00!
Volunteer bell ringers are needed November 8--December 24 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. It is easy to get started. You may call the office at 202-829-0100 to sign up for a shift, or register at www.redkettlevolunteer.org/Southernterritory.
Because almost all of our kettles are stationed outside the main entrance to a business, we ask that there be a maxiumum of two or three bell ringers per kettle. You (or your group) are welcome to ring for as long as you would like. However, we would really appreciate at least a one hour shift. Children under the age of 16 must have adult supervision at all times. Thank you so much for the help you are providing families right here in Washington D.C.!
