ORGANIZATION: Focus: HOPE

We need help on November 1, from 11am to 4pm helping with video & photography.

Purpose: The event is to show support for neighborhood businesses. During this event, we will be conducting interviews, taking pictures, and recording video footage, that's where you come in.

We are looking for volunteers with the following skills and/or equipment:

  • VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:
    • Camera handler - in some cases, we have a two camera set up. A person who is comfortable with using a camera and shooting video will be helpful
    • Audio person - an individual who feel comfortable placing audio (microphones) on interviewees and who will hold the boom mic during interviews. This person can be someone who has audio experience or a person who is interesting in the filming process and are open to taking direction
    • Editor - someone who is comfortable with editing video in iMovie or Final Cut Pro.
    • Lighting - an individual who will help set up lighting, packing and moving lighting when needed. This person can be someone who has lighting experience or is interested in the filming process and are open to taking direction.

  • EQUIPMENT - Volunteers who have the following equipment and are open to helping with this project will be invaluable:
    • 1080 HD Camera
    • Final Cut Pro or iMovie
    • Lavalier microphone (or similar product)

Focus: HOPE is a human service organization. Founded in 1968 in the wake of the 1967 Detroit riots by Father Willam T. Cunningham (1930-1997) and co-founder Eleanor M. Josaitis (1931-2011), Focus: HOPE unites a multicultural community in common efforts to overcome injustice and build racial harmony. Over the years, Focus: HOPE has initiated practical solutions to the problems of hunger, economic disparity, inadequate education, and racial divisiveness. Answers can be found in Focus: HOPE's technology training programs, educational and corporate partnerships, and food programs.
