Over the past 10 years, we have developed greatly as an organisation, though there are many challenges we still face. One of the most important challenges is the capacity to not only be able to implement current programmes, but also to expand and be able to reach more people.

We are looking for a long term volunteer to help us maintain and develop our capacity to fundraise trough grant-writing from trusts and foundations.

Key responsibilities:

-identifying potential funders
-researching open calls for grant applications
-writing grant proposals and general funding requests
-writing regular reports to our partners
-general administrative tasks
-working collaboratively with other volunteers
-participating in webinars and trainings related to writing grant applications and reporting
-looking for potential future partners

Specific Skills:

- we need someone who can work independently and in a team of volunteers with minimal supervision. You will get support from the centre directors and have the opportunity to have regular progress meetings, and direction. You will however be responsible for organising your tasks and managing grant applications and reporting.

- we do not ask for expert volunteers in the field, but to be open to learning as much as possible and to always have the incentive to improve their work. In order to be able to work in a small town in Bosnia we have found it is essential for people to be able to adapt to new environments, and to have had experiences of living abroad. Things go slower in Bosnia, a lot of work gets done over coffee, and not to mention, there is a new culture and new language to adapt to.

-good writing skills. Whether you are used to writing university coursework, have experience in writing blogs, or have done some previous fundraising, it is essential that you have good writing skills. We do not however ask for previous grant writing skills, as long as you are willing to learn and develop this skill.

Please send a CV, and motivation letter to ade.stuparu@gmail.com with the subject 'volunteering in CIM'. We will then follow-up on it with an interview.

About GlobalGiving

Location:

Mission Statement

Build an efficient, open, thriving marketplace that connects people who have community and world-changing ideas with people who can support them.

Description

GlobalGiving was founded by two former World Bank executives who decided to use the Internet to create a highly efficient marketplace. The GlobalGiving platform enables more funding to reach projects throughout the globe, and, at the same time, provides a more transparent, engaging way for donors to give.
Because we enable donors to give directly to projects, they know exactly where their money is going. Donors can see progress updates on most projects as funding is received and goals are met.

Donations made through GlobalGiving are higher impact because:

  • Money is going directly to a well-defined project versus supporting general operating expenses
  • Projects on globalgiving.com have exposure to thousands of donors, enabling us to aggregate multiple sources of funding for each project
  • Many projects on globalgiving.com are located in the developing world where a little money goes a long way
