CLERICAL VOLUNTEER

The Clerical Volunteer will support the Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B) by performing clerical and administrative tasks, as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Clerical Volunteer will be expected to perform the following tasks, as needed:

Typing & data entry

Greeting guests at reception desk

Meeting/conference registration

Assisting with mailing projects - copying, folding, stuffing envelopes

Filing

Copying

Other tasks, special projects as needed and assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Commitment to the mission, values and goals of the AAA 1-B

Effective oral and written communication skills

Effective keyboarding skills

Working knowledge of MS Office products

Ability to operate office equipment (computer, facsimile machine, copier, etc.)

Previous office experience preferred

Description

The Area Agency on Aging 1-B, established in 1974, is a non-profit 501(c)3 agency responsible for services to more than 435,000 persons age 60 and older residing in Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair and Washtenaw counties.

Area Agencies on Aging were established under the Older Americans Act (OAA) in 1973 to respond to the needs of Americans aged 60 and over in every local community. The AAA 1-B is one of 16 area agencies serving the state of Michigan. There are over 650 area agencies across the United States. Area agencies receive funding through the Older Americans Act and other federal, state and county dollars.
