The role of the hospice volunteer is to provide their time and compassion to those with terminal illnesses.

A volunteer shares their time with the terminally ill person. What do you want to share? Is it sitting with a patient and talking about their memories, watching television, playing games, reading a book aloud, or giving their family member an hour or two to run errands.

What do you want to do in your hour?

The opportunities are endless! We have volunteer opportunities in both patient homes and senior care facilities.

Remember, the last good thing that may happen in a person's life is a hospice volunteer.

Description

The role of the hospice volunteer is to provide their time and compassion to those with terminal illnesses. A volunteer may spend their time sitting with a patient and talking about their memories, watching television, playing games, reading aloud, or giving their family member an hour or two to run errands. Even simply sitting and holding the hand of an individual and saying a prayer with them can make an enormous difference in their life.
