Work with students with reading, writing, and or conversation practice, 1:1 an/or in small groups. Valuable, fun volunteer jobs are available in the morning and evening, and Tuesday afternoon. The time commitment is M-F, 1 or 1.5 hours per week, depending on the job. Jobs can be combined for volunteers wanting more time. Students are motivated. Volunteers are highly valued. We welcome you to see for yourself. After the orientation you would have a hands-on no-obligation classroom visit. Experience is not needed. Training is provided.

Help adults acquire the skills, and provide the support, to pursue education and employment goals.

Description

Minneapolis Adult Education provides free classes in ESL, reading, writing, math, basic computer skills, and transition to work and college. Classes are available in the morning, afternoon, and evening. We are part of Minneapolis Community Education, Minneapolis Public Schools.

Volunteers participate once an week, for an hour or more depending on the class. We ask for a commitment of 3 months. Service learning has a different minimum.
