As an advocate appointed by the judge you would advocate for the best interest of an abused or neglected child in juvenile court proceedings. You would visit the child, gather independent information about the child to make recommendations to the judge, interview parents, guardians, caretaker, social worker & other service providers. Prepare written report for court hearings. Training is provided.

Senior Corps is a network of national service programs for Americans 55 years and older to help improve lives and fostering civic engagement. Senior Corps volunteers commit their time to address critical community needs including academic tutoring and mentoring, elderly care, disaster relief support, and more.
Description
Gloucester County Senior Corps RSVP started in Gloucester County in 1972. Our sponsor is Rowan College at Gloucester County. Rowan College has been our sponsor since1982 and have provided excellent program oversight, financial guidance and quality control. Our program has 320 volunteer members and 60 agency organizations that receive volunteer help from the Senior Corps program. Our volunteer Opportunities range from literacy volunteers, tutors, visitors, food pantry assistance, Medicare counseling, daycare assistants, educational surrogates, stress buster programs for caregivers just to mention a few.
