Commemorate the second anniversary of Superstorm Sandy by volunteering to create a healthy coastal forest in the Rockaways. In the fall of 2013, volunteers planted 20,000 trees in one day. Visit this new forest and help care for the trees. Volunteers will be trained in tree care, invasive weed identification and removal techniques. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes, long pants and clothing that can get dirty. Please meet your Technical Leader at the corner of Almeda Avenue and Beach 54 th Street. This project is appropriate for adults and youth groups that are High School age and above, with a ratio of 1 chaperone for every 5 minors. Space is limited. Registration is required for this event.
