By interning with the Global Village Department, the Grant Writing Intern will enhance the capacity of our program services through increased funding opportunities. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is interested in grant writing, international development, and San Diego’s diverse refugee community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Research relevant grant opportunities for Global Village Department programs • Write Letters of Interest to prospective grant making organizations and individuals • Complete and follow up with grant applications • Create donor correspondence, including thank you letters and program reports and updates REQUIREMENTS: COMMITMENT: The position requires a minimum 3-6 month commitment for 10-15 hours per week. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Excellent command of written English including: grammar, sentence construction, paragraph flow, etc • Good proof reading skills, detail oriented, and highly organized • Ability to use online databases and search engines to conduct research • Working towards a degree in English, International Development, Nonprofit Management or related field BENEFITS: This position offers insight into the operations of a nonprofit organization and valuable experience to enhance your resume. Although this position is unpaid, we are happy to provide an internship description and verification if you are seeking to attain college credit. Application deadline : 30 January 2015.
