Mission Statement

Our Mission: To raise global awareness, to fund research in search of a cure, and to provide financial support to under-served women in the U.S. as well as developing nations in their valiant fight against ovarian cancer.

Description

KEY PROGRAMS:

Financial Support for Underprivileged Patients: OvarCare is a financial support and care package launched in January of 2014 for underprivileged ovarian cancer patients in active treatment at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. At least 12 grants will be made available in 2014, potentially more, based on philanthropic contributions received.

Research Grants For Clinical Impact: We plan to award research grants to scientists focused on ovarian cancer especially those who are working to develop treatments for patients. We awarded our first research grants to four young scientists in the summer of 2014.

Women’s Cancer Awareness Workshops: We host educational outreach events and informational seminars integrating researchers, clinicians, survivors, families, and caregivers to learn and educate about the latest developments in diagnosis and care continuum of women’s cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and survivorship. In addition to the annual seminars at RiceUniversity and other local venues, in 2014, we will be conducting cancer awareness and wellness programs within corporations, directly informing and educating women in the workforce.

Community Outreach: We also provide various survivor support and spotlight programs, sharing stories and celebrating these incredibly strong and resilient women.
