Volunteers are needed in Cache & Box Elder Counties to help screen and prepare federal and state tax forms for Utah families whose annual income is below $53,000. The United Way 211 and Community Action Partnership provide the free service, sponsored by Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA.)
*Volunteers must commit a minimum of three hours a week from Jan 26 - Apr 15.
*Free online and classroom training will be provided by the Bear River Regional Coordinator. It is open book testing. No prior tax preparation is needed to become a volunteer. Data entry.
*Volunteer screeners are needed to assist taxpayers with paperwork and ensure participants have the correct documentation
*Volunteer tax preparers are needed to help prepare tax returns, research law questions and perform quality review. Basic and Advanced certification available.
*Volunteers will receive IRS certification upon completion of training and testing. Great resume builder!

Utah’s statewide campaign to strengthen family financial stability through utilization of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), and asset formation programs.
Description
The statewide Earn it. Keep it. Save it. coalition provides free tax preparation services to low- and moderate-income households throughout Utah. Volunteers are trained and certified by the Internal Revenue Service and work with taxpayers to ensure they receive all of the credits to which they are entitled, including the Earned Income Tax Credit .
