ORGANIZATION: Mercy Health VNS and Hospice

Our volunteers go into homes to provide a brief break for a caregiver, visit patients in facilities, write a life story, make phone calls, grocery shop or even support the office. The possibilities are endless when it comes to providing support to a Hospice patient or family.
More and more, Hospice patients prefer to stay at home, with our Hospice support, "WE" make it happen!

Location:

Mission Statement
We serve together in Trinity Health,
in the spirit of the Gospel,
to heal body, mind and spirit,
to improve the health of our communities
and to steward the resources entrusted to us.
Description
We are a community based Hospice program with the philosophy to focus on the patient rather than the disease.
Every Hospice patient has a team of people behind them:
Nurses, health-aids, social workers, a Medical Director, Spiritual Care, Grief Counselors and Volunteers.
What most people do not realize is that it is a requirement for every Hospice program to provide volunteer support to families to maintain their Hospice accreditation.
We cover Muskegon, Oceana, Ottawa and Newaygo Counties.
