Be a friendly face to welcome our patients and their families! Our Hospitality Volunteers greet patients and their families as they first enter our facility at the Admissions Entrance. Here you have the opportunity to help with a smooth transition into acute rehabilitation care. Families often arrive after patients have already checked in with us and our hospitality volunteers are here to greet and help show family members to their loved ones' room. This volunteer opportunity also includes delivering patient mail for additional opportunity for positive relationship development.

An outgoing personality and willing attitude are essential. Hospitality Volunteers must be able to walk or use a power chair for long distances in order to meet patients and families where they are.

All volunteers must attend a general volunteer orientation as well as training.

Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with clients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines and understand the volunteer handbook and all hospital policies.

As a hospital volunteer, you may be exposed to blood, body tissues or fluids, hazardous waste materials, sudden fluctuations in temperature, outside weather radiation, toxins, poisonous substances, dust, chemicals, bodily injury, and loud or unpleasant noises.
