Overview of Role: The Office Organizer will be responsible for completing a short-term project organizing and cleaning the food bank’s front desk, volunteer office space and storage closet effectively and thoroughly.

Project Description: Give our office a bit of TLC and organization so we know where things are, keep tabs on our inventory, maintain a healthy and clean space and keep up a pleasant and attractive environment. We have a big space for people who love to organize and keep things orderly! If this is you, then definitely read on.

Responsibilities:

• Organizing storage spaces of office and supplies
• Taking inventory of office and pantry supplies
• Cleaning up cabinets and countertops of dust, boxes and unusable items
• Lift 25lb or more
• Filing
• Labeling
• Creating signage

Requirements:

• Enjoys cleaning and organizing
• Detail-oriented and meticulous
• Good with organization and using space effectively
• Good sense of aesthetics and orderliness
• Comfortable both on your feet and sitting for long periods of time
• Takes direction well, but can work on own with little supervision
• Can work with some guidelines and framework, but able to be creative and innovative
• Flexible and adaptable with limited resources (remember we are a nonprofit!)

Time Commitment and Duration: We're looking for someone who can complete projects from start to finish so we're flexible on when a volunteer comes in to get them done. Our office is generally open M-F from 8AM-5PM but longer hours available on Thursdays. We do want to see these projects finished sooner than later so a suggested schedule may be 2-3 days a week for 3-5 hours for 2-3 weeks. Again, if you're interested, we will work out a suitable schedule.

Training Required: No

Supervised By: Under the guidance of Patti Jimenez, the Front Desk Coordinator. We will provide a bit of direction and training, but allow the volunteer enough independence to be creative and innovative to get the jobs done.
