The most meaningful way to volunteer at Good Grief is to become a facilitator. All of our groups are facilitated by trained volunteers who are supervised by Good Grief staff. Our volunteers describe this experience as "life changing, fun, and the most rewarding thing I have ever done."
Good Grief provides unlimited and free support to children, teens, young adults and families after the death of a mother, father, sister, or brother by providing a safe space for them to share, remember, and address their grief while also empowering them to develop coping skills. We fulfill our mission with dedicated volunteers, who are supervised by skilled staff and experts in the field. Without the commitment and countless hours of support from our volunteers, we couldn’t operate two centers and provide six nights of support that help 350 kids per month.

Mission Statement
Good Grief's mission is to provide unlimited and free support to children, teens, young adults, and families after the death of a mother, father, sister, or brother through peer-support programs, education, and advocacy.
Description
Good Grief provides free peer support to children, teens, young adults, and families after the death of a mom, dad, sister, or brother. Our programs equip grieving families with the support and tools they need to face their grief. We help families develop healthy coping skills, provide a caring environment to process feelings and fears, and create a sense of hopefulness during a very difficult and uncertain time.
In addition to our bi-weekly programs, Good Grief's enrichment programs enhance the quality of our participant's experience. These programs focus on family time, parenting skills, opportunities to explore grief in our summer camps and equine therapy, and physical well-being through outdoor adventures and play. All of our enrichment programs encourage participants to make new friends, find different ways to express grief, spend time remembering the person who died, and discover ways to develop a new sense of normalcy. At the heart of Good Grief, we are a community of people who understand and support one another.
