Volunteer for Día de los Muertos!

Join El Centro de la Raza's 10th annual celebration of Día de los Muertos. We will open the ofrenda exhibit, serve a free dinner, enjoy live entertainment, and celebrate the memory of those who have passed. Like so many events, this night would not be possible without volunteers!

We still need over 50 volunteers!

Saturday, November 1st, 1:00-4:00pm

Set-up (15): Help get the building ready for the Día de los Muertos celebration! Set up the dining area, chairs, kid's activities and any last minute decorations.

Saturday, November 1st, 3:30-8:00pm

Food Service (20): Help serve a delicious dinner to the community. Volunteers will help serve a chicken mole dinner, drinks, chocolate and pan dulce, as well as keep the kitchen and dining area clean.

Children's Activities (8): Connect with kids in the community as you help them decorate sugar skulls and masks, and help with face-painting.

Greeter (8): Welcome guests to the event and help direct them to the dining room, various ofrendas, and children's activities.

Donation Collection and T-Shirt Sales (6): Sell Día de los Muertos t-shirts and help collect donations to support the event.

Photographers (3): Capture the action and document the fun for El Centro de la Raza's history.

Saturday, November 1st, 3:30-6:30pm
Parking Lot Assistance (10): Help direct guests to available parking and keep traffic in the parking lots flowing smoothly.

Saturday, November 1st, 7:30-9:30pm
Clean-up (10): Help clean up El Centro de la Raza after the event.

If you're interested in helping with one of these positions, or for more information, please contact Ruby Montes De Oca, Volunteer Coordinator at (206) 957-4602 or volunteer@elcentrodelaraza.org. ¡Gracias!
